Designed in 1962 by architect-product designers Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, the piece takes the traditional form of a streetlamp and creates an elegant, arching floor fixture for at-home use. As dazzling as it is, the Arco lamp, on the other hand, prioritizes functionality - it’s wholly mobile, no drilling required. Lobmeyr, for example, put on a similarly stunning show, each with a rich story to tell. Just as gazing at the stars allows you to glimpse the universe’s past, vintage chandeliers like those designed by Gino Sarfatti and J. By integrating glass and mirrors, reflection can be used to soften the glow from LEDs and warmly welcome light into any space.Īlthough contemporary innovators continue to impress, some of the classics can’t be beat. Today, lighting designers like the self-taught Bec Brittain have used the flexible structure of LEDs to craft glamorous solutions by working with what is typically considered a harsh lighting source. While we’re indebted to thinkers like Thomas Edison for critically important advancements in lighting and electricity, we’re still finding new ways to customize illumination to fit our personal spaces all these years later. Our buyers travel the world’s major capitals and small villages hunting for the kinds of treasures you can’t find just anywhere-fresh and fragrant candles, exotic wicker, hand-painted dinnerware, gorgeous textiles and thoughtful hand crafted gifts. After all, Pier 1 has been the place for unique finds for over 40 years. If it’s interesting, if it’s impressive, if it’s colorful and cute and one-of-a-kind-then odds are it’s probably from Pier 1 Imports®. I’m looking forward to showing the rest off to you next week! I love that Pier 1 has all the pieces to do a complete display! I was also able to pick up the “snow” and the little diamonds that are scattered around. I filled mine with a little glittered deer and tree. One of my other finds is perfect for my mantel this year! You’re only getting a sneak peek – I’m doing a big reveal next week – but I found this awesome candle holder/cloche at Pier 1! It holds a candle on top then it’s open underneath for any little display you want! I love that I can change it out for any season. The box was so full I was able to scatter it in a couple different places around the house too! Now when guests come in the door they get that holiday pine smell right away! Which is pretty awesome since we don’t have a real tree. And I love how versatile it is – I’m planning on moving the tree for an upcoming party and using this little space as an appetizer area! The charger will look so cute under my Christmas place full of yumminess! This little charger it’s sitting on is too cute – it’s a nice neutral cream color, all shabby and cute. I don’t normally go for gold – but this little glittered tree stole my heart! I think it looks sweet with the frame on the artwork too! ![]() I have this little console table near the entry way and it’s a perfect spot for a little display. I wanted to pick up a few things that were really “Christmas-sy” and some things that I could use year round in decorating, and I definitely found them! Not only do they have beautiful traditional colors on items, they have fun new trends too – these peacock colored glitter trees were just gorgeous! The colors are so super cute – and they have such fun, whimsical decorations! One of my favorite things about Pier 1 is that they have such a wide variety of styles and decor. I decided it was high time to hit Pier 1 Imports for some new Christmas awesomeness! Plus – I’m holding a little Christmas party in a few weeks and I want the house to look really sweet and all dressed up for the holiday. Like, why did I keep that smooshed little pine candle ring? And that little snowman that my kiddos gave me a few years ago that has lost half its glitter? Do you find yourself in a rut with your Christmas decorations? I got out all my boxes earlier in the week and felt like a lot of the items inside were looking a bit sad.
